EN: An extensive archive of documents, photographs and maps divided into over 200 collections. From June 2012 a selection of digital documents are available on the On line Collction page.

EN: The museum's exhibits are made up of invaluable objects from Poland in the interwar period and later periods. They commemorate the fight for freedom and the fight for freedom and the rebuilding of an independant Poland.

EN: The Institute's library contains over 6 thousand books, brochures and publications, providing a diverse collection of literature on Poland's history since 1863.

The Polish Legions during the First World War

The centenary of the outbreak of the First World War is intertwined with the history of the Polish Legions - divisions of the Polish military who took part in the battles of 1914-1918. This was made possible by the First Cadre Division assembled in Krakow in 1914 by Jozef Pilsudski.
